Western Plastics

Any old west plastic figures out there; sometimes I have to go with portability instead of quality metal, so I wondered if anyone made any.

Imex and Airfix both do good 20mm or 1/72 old west figs.

In 28mm -32mm there are a few useable figs from the Heroclix and Heroscape games.

There are also quite a few 54mm toy cowboys out there.

There are also these Perry Miniatures plastic cavalrymen - I've been tempted to buy some, but I'm not entirely sure of the scale, or how they would fit in with what I have (mostly Foundry)

Somebody in China has copied the Aifix 1/32 cowboys and Indians and put them out in 28mm. Very hard to find but very nice copies.

Stu,
How are those redone Airfix being sold i.e. by major chains, discount stores, hobbyist on Ebay, etc? Depending on the quality they might be worth tracking down.

Out of some dodgy geezers boot in a pub car park more like. Mind you, I found some pirated Playmobile figures once being sold in a local garage's shop, so you never know. lol

Sorry, can't tell you, a friend who is an Airfix collector turned them up from somewhere, I am seeing him tomorrow so I shall enquire on your behalf.

Has anyone bought any of these Perry Plastics? I imagine that they are very good quality.

TT.

I have the cavalry. They are great. Being Perry plastics they are quite slender, they stand at the same height as my artizan figs but aren't as bulky. I feel they mix fine though as they don't have big coats etc.
So many projects..... so little time.......

I have both the Perry sets and like them very much. Be warned though that there are a lot of marching poses in the infantry set which would limit the conversion potential possibliy.

Many old Airfix sets are being re-issued by HAT miniatures (www.hat.com). I've not checked if that set has been.

Otherwise, try looking at www.plasticsoldierreview.com
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!
