If there'll be a cast from it, I'd buy it!

Ditto.  I'm a sucker for more monsters, need 'em or not!!

Very cool, but I think it needs more rubble ~

Very cool - and tentacally.

I would suggest either make the base smaller - or add some debris and broken tiles to the empty bits to show the broken tiles and flooring where it is pushing up from. (if the base is smaller then the broken bits of tile will just be assumed to be off the base!)

While I agree with these gents, I'd be happy either way.

Rest assured I've already stolen "tentacally"  for my very own.

If I can add to LAF lexicon, that will be reward enough. And need far fewer lawyers...

Thanks for the feedback everyone :)

One thing I just noticed is that physically, this is just impossible. The tiled floor would be on concrete, wooden floorboards, packed earth or whatever, but the thing seems to be directly below the tiles, so if it pushes through, where did the underlying ground matter go?

Anything is possible in the in the Outer limits  ;)

No I know what you mean, I'm still going to add more rubble etc and the idea was its been directly under the tiles growing over time or a portal appeared just under the surface, how does that sound?

I like the looks of it but it might have a bit large base (no matter how nice) compared to actual creature. Especially in the front of the first picture there is a large zone of floor thats just that, empty floor.

Very cool - and tentacally.

I would suggest either make the base smaller - or add some debris and broken tiles to the empty bits to show the broken tiles and flooring where it is pushing up from. (if the base is smaller then the broken bits of tile will just be assumed to be off the base!)

I've still got some rubble to add and might do another tentacle or two so the base doesnt seem so empty.  What do you think?

Thanks
George

Another option would be to split base into several pieces. Main body and multiple small single tentacle bases.

Would allow more flexibility in placement. I can then see tentacles coming up out of floor at random places... Like right behind a character. :)

Picture a "Land Kraaken" punching through at random places, then retracting leaving a rubble and broken tile rimmed hole. Holes would be perilous/difficult terrain to traverse.

All you would need to finish it off is a "master" floor that matches tiling you currently have on the large base.

My 2cents:

No mouth required. It looks wonderful. You craft good tentacle and otherworldly 'mass'. We don't need to understand how the thing functions or its motivations. All that matters is the doom it represents.

A large base suggests the size of the thing. I like it. Provides room for the thing to gather up its snacks conveniently upon its lap while enjoying the main event... In essence the mini provides its own perilous terrain.

More tentacles on smaller bases please. This thing should be able to reach out and touch someone, popping up a tentacle from just about anywhere. I've been looking for a disposable rubber octopus to do this with, but a well made set would win my vote.

This version coming up through the tiles is brilliant and it tells a wonderful story. But I would have more use for a set (main 'blob' plus separate 'mobile' tentacles) that I could base according to my needs: coming out of the lagoon, murky swamp or erupting from the ground.
Of course, I could always buy the wonderful mini you produce and modify it to my needs.

Such a wonderful hobby! :-*

Looks wonderful as it is (imho...). Wouldn't change a thing...although, I can't say no to more tentacles.  :) A protoplasmic monstrosity squelching itself up from the depths!

The original intention for the large base was that it could be used in dungeon, haunted house adventures as a full room instead of a just a base.

I think I'm just going to add a bit of rubble and that's it for this piece, but I'll still do a few extra tentacles that are based separately at some point.

Thanks for al the feedback it helps me try and improve and I'll keep it in mind for my next project :)

Thanks
George

Agreed.  Tentacley..er.   love it though.  Maybe a smaller burst on another part of the tile base.

Not to pile on but...

It was always there. The builders only thought that was nice, hard ground. lol

That is kind of great in a lovecraftian way. That feeling of dread that this thing has been there for who knows how long. Mind boggling and feels like a invasion of what should be a secure space. Very nice.

Just about finished, I have a little bit of tidying to do :)

Added some rubble and an extra tentacle.

What do you think?

Thanks

Very, very good.

Perhaps this could be the start of a bases range for Ian (Fenris Games)?

Excellent, looks like it is bubbling out of the ground, and of course very tentacally.
