Crescent & Cross - Saga
« on: August 19, 2014, 07:03:34 PM »
Not too sure if folks are aware but the long awaited Crescent & Cross Saga rules plus dice are now available...just ordered mine

This will certainly be my 2015 project which neatly dovetails into my pulp desert adventures  :D

I'm thinking of getting this - we've had loads of games of Dark Ages Saga.

Only problem is fitting in the games - need more gaming time and less work!

I'm considering doing it in 10mm, with several figures on a 2p to represent a single 28mm figure.

I'm also cosidering using both SAGA and God of Battles for games with 10mm 'stands' (I'll start collecting a 10mm LotR Isengard armysomewhen after Christmas, I think).

Pretty sure I need C&C - besides historical gaming, it should be perfect for, for instance, Gondor versus Haradrim.  ;)
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

Hopefully I'm getting my copy this weekend.  Having converted my Perry crusaders to a Norman Dark Ages SAGA warband, they can easily slip back to their orignal function.  And finally I can now use my Perry Muslims which have sat on the shelf waiting for their moment in the spotlight.  Just a small matter of re-basing them (and re-painting them perhaps).

Got my copy yesterday. It is a great game as far as I read it. Very open for different warbands. But it is still SAGA.

All these Rules in C&C are absolut simular to SAGA. Only some small mods for some factions. A new book with rules wasn't necessary, a book like northern fury would be enough.
But the book is very good standard (Hardcover, colour print, nice pictures).

When you know the Dark-Age-SAGA you can play it after 20 Minutes reading.

Ok, you're right. But it was necessary to clarify some rules and procédures.
I love the new book, very professionnal and nicely illustrated.

My suspicion with this game is that everyone will want to play the Crusaders and Templars and very rarely will you find a Muslim opponent. I'm sure that world-wide this won't be the case, but here in the US that's pretty much what I'm expecting. Will be interesting to see how it pans out.

Got mine today - very nice presentation. As has been stated they are very similar to Dark Ages

Looking forward to building my first Saracen army ! (mind you that will be in 2015 :D)

Me and another member of our gaming group already have large Araby armies - so a Saracen one is only a small step away.
