Very nice painting and basing for those, Suetonius. I agree that the bronze is especially nice looking.  :-*

Ah, well it looks like I sent my compliment to the wrong thread so here it goes again...
Great paint job as always, fast too. I know you have painted up some of the Agema figures, any chance of seeing the victrix and agema side by side? I also don't recognize the shield transfers, who are they by?
Cheers
PS:I to love the bronze.

Excellent brushwork, very well done. :-*

Okay, horses for causes, but of any offering of plastic Romans I like these best so far. No overdone facial expression yet sweet 'improper' 28mm proportions. Spears are, as always, too thick for my liking, and some of the poses are typically 'pieces-stuck-together'-awkward. Overall, though, quite nice figures.
Well, final decision yet to be made – since, like on several occasions before, their good looks may be all down to SP's paintjobs. ;)

Thank you for your comments chaps :-)

They fit in well enough with Agema's lovely plastics.
In fact I'm sure I will do some kit bashing at some stage as I really fancy the kneeling Agema Triarii.
Weapons are a bit chunky but still within normal parameters especially when compared to many metals.
Some prefer thinner spears (as would I) but then people a whinging about them breaking all too easily.
Personally I like my figures not too animated so I am really happy with the poses available. My legionaries will have the velites in front of them so it would look odd on the battlefield if they would all be in hand to hand combat.

The transfers are Veni Vidi Vici, pretty basic. LBMS are much nicer but I confess to prefer waterslides, but this is probably just me..

More pictures soon!

Cheers

Really fine painting.
Based on your painting,
I ordered a couple of boxes.
Can't wait to see the figures.

Excellent figures and great paint job.  The Italian Allied Legions are now out, which makes the collecting of a Roman Army pretty easy.  Just waiting for some plastic cavalry and Bobs your uncle!  Vitrix Carthaginians look good. Can't wait.

The new guys, well done.
I like them a lot.
I can see these troops going to the front of the painting line.
Will have to be careful,
I could have a mutiny on my hands with all the others in line to be painted. ;)
