looking for 28mm undead astronauts
« on: August 26, 2014, 05:08:39 PM »
Apart from these two in the Gafdoz line does anyone make 28mm undead astronauts?

I suppose I could add skulls to the Crooked Dice ones but I'm really after a cheaper option so I can buy quite a few.

+1 on the horrorclix
Crooked Dice also have astronaut minis and do a set of heads where one has an open visor with a skull inside :

Paul, Crooked Dice sell Arc Astronauts and one of the head options is a skull in a helmet:

Might be wroth speaking to Karl to see if he can put together a sprue of just these heads.
Don't!

A sprue / combo of just 'dead astronauts' would be my first ever CD purchase. CD produce some lovely minis, but few of their sculpts fit the projects I have going.

For Spooky Spacemen I would an exception make... 8)

Maybe you can use some plastics from Wargames Factory and change the heads?

A few of mantics new Sci-fi zombies would work. Also there's old citadel space skeleton Ltd. Edition mini remember.

A mix of crooked dice heads and mantic zeds I reckon.

I want the space suit to be the main focus, and I need about 20-30 so really the Crooked Dice figures are too expensive. The Gafdoz ones are £2.00 each so I'll probably go with those. Good suggestions though, thanks for your help :)

There used to be an old Citadel/GW one holding a wrench. I've got it somewhere.

A good choice anyway, those are some fun figures with lots of personality.  Hadn't seen them before.

AND I would like to give thanks for the Horrorclix, as well.

Paint challenged as I am, TOO kewl!

Fortunately, my needs would NOT be for 20+!

With the Horrorclix one, you're looking for the cosmonaut. The astronaut is the same figure but painted in US colours etc. The cosmonaut was a standard figure and widely available, the astronaut was a limited edition paint job.
So many projects..... so little time.......

Thanks for that. The Cosmonaut becomes a decent option, I'll keep an eye out for some (the ones on eBay at the moment have a £21.00 shipping charge).
