Wouldn't be half as good without those hounds!!
 :D
Liking those deeper bases - well worth the effort.
Cheers, Simon.

I think they had more names* than you have figures... which look absolutely great as usual.  :)

* Costrils, custrells, currours, harbingers... and hobilars (who get a mention as late as 1485 at least)  ;)

I admire your commitment to the period - a real labour of love that shows in every base. I wish I could commit to a single period/campaign like that - every time I think I have found "my focus" I am distracted by something new a few months later...

At the risk of hijacking the posting - forgive me Stuart(!) - yes Richard and Mick (and anyone else?) there are some hound castings still for sale.
If you would like to visit the blog - the purchasing info is on there. If Paypal is not your bag, then just drop me a PM and we can sort some other way out (a cheque perhaps...anyone remember them!).

Fantastic painting and wonderful diorama. I have a question if I may, would you be able to tell me the colours used for the horses (the light and dark brown) they are beautiful and I wouldn't mind having a go at doing some like that.

Simon, you hi-jack away, they're lovely sculpts and really add some drama to the base.

Jeff I use a variety of Foundry Spearshaft, Drab, Deep Brown Leather, Tan, Chestnut & Bay brown usually with a bay brown or black & bay brown wash. All of those browns intermingle to an extent so you can have various mid-grades of shade and highlight (hope that makes sense).
