Army list for Sharp Practice 2 has just been released, just the kick up the backside to do more minis for this period

Army list available here:
http://toofatlardies.co.uk/blog/?p=5782

Having had a quick peer at the army lists and then a quick peer at the internet for "carabinieri genovesi 1860", I found this picture:

http://miles.forumcommunity.net/?t=57548462

I have no idea if that picture does indeed portray Genoese Carabinieri of the period or not (I will have to ask my wife to translate the whole page when she has a moment). Anyone have an opinion?

thanks for the interesting post............the figure on the right ticks all
the boxes for a Geonese Carabineers who really were the Elite of Garibaldi,s
army of lawyers/artists/libertarians...armed with a really effective swiss carbine
it was said they never missed a shot! :o

guy in the middle may be one of Dunnes battalion.......

Glad toofatlardies have done the lists for the war of 1860..
hope you are enjoying the period!!

That portrait of the retreat is the one I eventually went with as my inspiration for painting my Neopolitans. Once I've got one complete, I'll stick a picture up for random comment! It's taken me a while to get the colours right but I think I've cracked it now.

Ged thanks for posting this very pict
Tomorrow, at least, my US very good friend that visited your stand at salute (bloody lucky to be there)...will be in Rome and will come in my house for a good bottle of southern Italy wine and carbonara spaghetti plus  long wargame night ...zulu wars..then on Sunday maybe a small skirmish between Garibaldini and Pontifical Zouaves  ...but ..most important..at least i'll put my hand, for the fisrt time, on your castings of which i'm exited to discover and begin to paint...among them this beautiful Neapolitan General ...on some other precious types...my actual Neapolitan wargame army is made out of types mostly in campaign uniform (modified foundry..ecc...) built over years ..but...as many maybe could agree with..playing Risorgimento and above all Neapolitans on tabletop..call for panache and old school toys...so your choice of making very characterial and iconic subject (including Garibaldi personalities, picciotti ecc..) is a very good choice...
