Phil - thanks for that, just off a 14hr flight and could have done with extra reading material, but have downloaded it now.

Ged - looking forward to your opus!

So is there a decent book to read (in English), which focuses on the military rather than the political background to the wars?

Apologies if I missed this back at the threads beginning?

Here is a good start:

And Gringo, you are right about the mounted version. but you should have a dismounted one for both of them too; and frà Pantaleo, and Istvan Turr, and Alexander Dumas, and Jesse White Mario.. the sky is the limit!

about 30 figures will be done for the Neapolitan, .......barrack capped..grenadiers...covered shakos...THEN
the elegant cavalry and artillery!

Hello Gringo
That's very interesting project ...also the barrack capped ..as they appear in some contemporary "reportages" and should have been dressed in reality..
But please..as asked before and not a few times after seeing all your splendid picts of painted minis in different ranges..with which manufactures are they sufficiently compatible in size?...as you can imagine..may of us have already some troops that cannot, possibly, become unemployed or obsolete after such honourable carreer... :)..that's could be the case of my Foundry and Mirliton Neapolitans/Pontifical and bandits..ops..sorry Red Shirts! :D
could your beautiful minis be compatible with the above mentioned manufactures?
thanks

Italwars

many thanks for your comments...to be honest my figures
are really of the larger 285mm Size..Don't give up hope
I will try and sort out some sort of size comparison! ;)
as I hav invested heavily in this project with time and effort
I happy to say there is a good groundswell of interest...
working on the next 25 Neapolitan infantrymwn......
much more to do. :D
