I found a wargame article that maybe useful to some. "The Battle of Calatafimi, May 15, 1860."

http://www.webring.org/l/rd?ring=pickelhaube;id=17;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Eoocities%2Eorg%2Ftimessquare%2Fbunker%2F7475%2Findex%2Ehtml

Hope the link works for you.
Best wishes,
Helen

Pleasure Ged. There is also an article just below the scenario on the 1867 attack on the Papal States.

Cheers,

cheers Helen.............attached picture of Neapolitan light infantry
im looking at as a possible addition....... :D
well picture is line infantry though the lights are similar
but I would do them without the Greatcoat to give greater
variety..and  jacket colours/facings are different. these 15 odd
battalions were Elite troops and featured heavily at Millazo.

Piccotti are also in the frame.......... :o

Thank you Ged, sounds lovely.

The wargame article is welcoming for gamers allowing to collect and game using different ratios of unit sizes.

I do have the Red Shirts booklet on its way to me so I'll hoping to see more scenarios.

Cheers,

Helen

All very interesting stuff Ged. You're really bringing these, oft neglected, wars alive.

Helen, a great find. Interesting scenarios and a reminder of the the old Freikorps guides, (I think I have one on Maximillian kicking about up in the loft). Thanks for sharing.

Ged, good to hear of progress!

Helen..Emir..Darrell many thanks
the Little red book from Frei-corp (by Casli) is in effect a
small bible for the period and the launch pad.
along with a string of Italian publications and nearly all
information for both sides is available.!
 :o :-* lol o_o ;) :D 8)
the deeper I dig the more fasciantng the period becomes
The Neapoliatan Army is fairly complex with gaps in some
areas for example the Cacciatori are only covered in a basic
way so I need to get to the bottom of the uniforms for these
troops who it appears bore the front of the fighting and were
considered Crack troops...............the uniform was pretty as well!

A great range Ged and seeing pictures in the wargames press and "The Foreign Correspondent" just reinforce that.  Love the quality and the different period you've achieved with this range.  Good luck with this range - the quality of the figures deerve it

Best Wishes  DaveL
