Was there a build thread for Winter Wreaks Wild?  ;D

 :D

Here you go

It rambles a bit but there's still a lot to do and BLAM was the first test of the previously unplayed rules (and the first time that it had all been assembled!)
My LAF Gallery is HERE
Minis (foot & mounted) finished in 2025 = 74
(2024 = 38; 2023 = 151; 2022 = 204; 2021 = 123; 2020 = ???)

Lovely! Here's hoping,I will be there next year :)

Would be great to see you Guy.
We'll certainly be doing it again, round about the same time next year, so if you are planning a trip to the UK, aim for October...  ;)

Great pics Capt! I hope you enjoyed our wee pirate game? Bring on BLAM 2015!! ;)

Your wee pirate game?!!!  :o
It was bloody massive - and yes, hugely enjoyable. I'm afraid I didn't manage to get many action shots during the course of the game I played, because there was so much going on to enjoy / worry about! But I did get some shots of the board which I'll add to your thread when I can.

Ok, I'm going to be rude and just ask.  Is there a way to 'sign up' our interest for next year?  I think it is very possible to have my 20mm game up and going with full bells and whistles by this time next year and I'd love to join!

Where is BLAM held?

I think just outside of London.

BLAM is normally held in and around London. This year it was in Surbiton, South West London and this is most likely going to be the same location next year.

The event has always been by invitation only (we have to keep a ceiling on numbers and cannot make the event open to anyone to turn up due to the size and cost of the venue hire etc).

If you are interested in attending (and we are always happy for new LAFers to come along) Drop me a PM and I'll add you to the list and give you further info. :)

As it appears to the rest of us, but we are glad to get the pictures and AARs.  :)

There's nothing stopping the rest of us being part of events in our cities and countries or starting our own events - like (I forgot which crazy Dane) has an event in his attic every year.

For me it's Little Wars in Melbourne - I'm aiming to do something weird and wonderful after seeing the stuff on many different threads on LAF (particularly DeafNala's labour of love).

I'm sure there will be  :)

lol

Well, we do have a Mason, but he's not like that at all. Not at all...

Nor is the event remotely 'exclusive' - we've had all sorts of people and an ever-changing cast over the several years we've been running BLAMs. It's not a convention - just a small, informal gathering, usually limited only by the size of the room. Also by the fact that 25 - 30 people is a lovely workable group size for social interaction as well as gaming. If we expanded it to 50 or 100 people, it would take on a very different complexion. But PM Malamute and add your name to the list if you're seriously interested. (You might be quite surprised by how many people claim to be seriously interested, but when the time comes, fail to turn up or follow through on their initial enthusiasm to take part!)

But yes, the real answer is that Lead Adventurers the world over, could and arguably should be capitalising on this great virtual community of ours to organise their own occasional 'in country' get-togethers or 'LAMs' - as indeed, quite a few people have done :)

What an amazing gathering of talent and FUN!! I can't help but be envious and of course comment with my traditional yearly "You lucky, lucky bastards".

Of course the good Captain is correct and I dream of attending such an event here in Oz, but Australia is such a BIG place, it seems an almost impossible dream.  :'(  :'(  :'(

Maybe we can do one for the Continent, CLAM has a nice ring to it, and the Netherlands is SUPER central.  Heck, you UK boys can make such a short trip too! :D  Amsterdam is quite lovely anytime of year and I know of a good space both here and in Utrecht.  We should start thinking more about this!  Maybe something 6 months away from BLAM?
