The overload of Kill Bill posters was a sign for me to paint up Brother Vinni's Motogirl as a certain protagonist 



And since close-ups show all mistakes, I probably should try and correct the blotch between the helmet and her thigh 
No eyes since I really, really suck at doing those. Lines aren't prefect, but good enough to put on a tabletop, for me at least

Attempted to repair the blotch but I didn't think it would work out. The yellow is somewhat transparent and if I'd put enough on, it would stick out, since the basecoat was already covered with an orange wash

Yup.
I find tarmac hard to imitate (used fine sand paper in the early days) but these bases do the job just fine.

For Tarmac I find very fine sawdust (VERY fine) mixed with PVA put I a thin layer does the trick. A fair amount of work though and buying bases is generally easier with better results.

Indeed, the quality of his castings is outstanding too.

I mostly use sawdust for desert bases. I also have some fine sand that is used in a sandblaster which I also use for desert settings.

I use liquitex ceramic stucco.

Spreads easy with an old brush, then wash with thinned black. See my zombie related threads in post apoc or LPL8 boards for examples.

Nice, but I'd like a more even layer than that for tarmac (for depicting a road that hasn't gone into decay, that is)

I use wet n dry paper (sandpaper but with a coating to make it more durable) when resin bases aren't available. In fact I think I prefer that to resin but only because plastic bases have a much better edge than most resin castings.
