My First Secrets of the Third Reich figure
« on: 27 August 2008, 07:35:08 PM »
Hiya!

I've managed to find the time to paint my first West Wind secrets of the third reich figure. Nika the sniper to be precise.

The plan is to finish the old Black Tree Russian snipers and infantry I bought years ago and I've got a nice little skirmish force. Of course I've just bought West Wind's Liberty and she's calling to me somewhat.

Very nice work. It looks like you found quite a bit of time there.

Nice figure but the blood on the helment looks a little bit strange. But I especially like the lips and the face  :-*

Very nice indeed

I am close to sorting out what I want for my Soviet skirmish force, which I intend to paint when I finish my VSF Prussians ...

Thanks Guys!

I made the base out of a bit of thin plasticard. I scored the paving slabs into it with a conveniently broken craft knife blade - I used the flat edge and which has broken at an angle making a mini sort of router thing. I got it round using a circle cutter. The piles of rubble are the same sort of plasti-card cut into small brick shapes and jammed into a mound of textured milliput. The helmet was left over from a converted Crusader German.

I painted her almost exclusively with Privateer P3 paints, the mercenaries set has some really good WWII type colours. As paints go I think they're really quite good, just like the old school GW ones - the ones pre hopeless lids.

She was nice figure to paint, I think I'll do Liberty next.
