Sons of Zeus
« on: 21 October 2014, 11:18:15 AM »
Hi Guys

Just want to share my first Greek army.

Been buying and painting miniatures this past weeks (starting new army is a great feeling but bad for wallet  o_o ) but this forum is my main source for information and inspiration

I think I'm gonna call them "Sons of Zeus" because it's very hard to decide which army and timeline to collect, with this I think I can buy any greeks characters and put it in my army  :)

Definitely will use OGAM and just to make it more flexible the army is also playable with Warriors of Chaos rules.

Spartans will be lead by Leonidas from Tales of war

Dilios and Stellios is waiting to be paint next batch

Next one is my fav Achilles from Flames of War

Myrmidons and Greeks army will be from Victrix Hoplites, I also order Wargames Foundry Odysseus, Agamemnon, etc to complete the characters

This is just for fun (I would love to see this fight in a big budget movie one day) haha

I also Order Zeus and Hercules from Northstar Figures

Not a big fan of naked Hercules so I sculpted a bit to make him look like The Rock version, heres the WIP I'm not satisfied with the painting will redo it very soon

Cheers guys do let me know if you have any suggestion for completing the army

Jason and the Argonauts is definitely been on my mind but have to resist and paint the current miniatures for now hehe
You know the day the destroys the night?

Nice work, sir.
 8) 8)

I am just about to start on my own Greek OGAM force and this is great inspiration.
 :D

Have you considered adding some 'Mythology' elements?
I am adding Centaurs, Harpies, Satyrs, a Minotaur and Medusa.
It adds a little bit of a fun break to all the 'real' stuff.
 ;)

Nitpicking 101. ;)

Make that Heracles instead of Hercules.

Love that 'Leonidas' figure!
Panic, Chaos and Disorder. My job here is done

Dear boy. ,
I like you earthy style ,  captures a pre classical feel (around 600Bc ) .
Very heroic .

Keep it up

My bad WillieB ;)
I shall rename him to Heracles from now on :)

Thanks Cecil, just start experimenting with new style I usually paint with NMM style for my Warhammer Army,
but I think battle damage and metallic is way more fun for The Greek army
