War in Randistan
« on: 21 October 2014, 11:07:48 PM »
My friend Bill was nice enough to run a game of GASLIGHT for our group this past weekend.  The Brits and Germans are both working to establish colonies on the recently found continent of Randistan.  Each of these great powers has enlisted native allies and is working to establish a foothold.

The Brits found the German's compound and have chosen to assault it in an effort to drive them from this land.

You can see more pictures and details on my blog.  http://gamingandshooting.blogspot.com/2014/10/gaslight-war-in-randistan.html

A British steam walker and infantry support attempt to flank the German compound.

A German airship shows up just in time to evacuate the remaining Germans.  They have already started making plans for their return with reinforcements and better allies.
The winning player isn't always the better player.

Pity the fact that I was unable to attend...  :'(

Also, as I've run the native population on occasion, I must take umbrage the "recently found continent of Randistan."

Truth be told, having seen many games of GASHLIGHT and IHMN, 'recently' is wrong in so many ways...  lol

I, too, love the airship. Not the first, they seem to grow in additions. I think the crow's nest is new.

Thanks for taking the hint, Sean. It's nice to show the folks how lucky we are to have our group; Sir Randall, Bill, and yourself keep it fresh.

I'm glad you all like the write up.

Thanks to Bill for running a great game and Bill and Randy both for the great models and terrain.

Legs/base and steam engine courtesy of Wild Wild West, and I believe the upper part is old Armorcast resin.

More talk like that, and you can expect regular dispatches from Randistan...  :D

I fear we never got piccies of the IHMN game in the little German outpost. From cloying jungle to narrow, dusty streets...  ;)

Ah, the tales that could be told...

What can I say, I love ellipses...

Doug

PS Here's a post I made over two years ago; you'll notice both the walker and the 'nef, the latter having the crow's nest I thought was new.  :o Technically, it was Mars not Randistan, but there's bound to be some connection. We rationalize like NOBODY'S business! After all, Jason Carson could well come stumbling out of a cave on this continent...

Oh you got the old guns of Naverone playset I had as a kid! I wish I have it still. It looks great on that table. So the rational was everyone fell through a cavern to Earth walker included.  8)

Not absolutely necessary; Carson could have brought back the designs...  lol

As I recall, the Kraag warriors I had looked quite good fighting on/attacking from the mountain eyrie, but they did not hold it.
