Hovertanks for The Worlds In My Head
« on: 14 November 2014, 06:59:46 PM »
I made hovertanks for the worlds in my head.

First, a Nathi skimmer, a low nap-of-the-earth flyer, designed to fill a role somewhere between modern battle tanks and helicopters.  Yes, this conversion is sacrilege.  Yes, I care a little:

And deployed as for a 40K game, based on all the games I've seen involving tanks:

Here's a tank for a border-worlds Human army.  It's an older model from before hoverdrives were optimized for better displacement, but the success of this tank in the last major conflict ensured that there are still large numbers and many variants in active service throughout the periphery still.

And again, deployed as for 40K:
You, sir, are not allowed to attempt a takeover of the solar system until your octopus sobers up.

Froggy, those are great conversions! I really freaking love the second one. I have a ton of those toy plastic m48 tanks for conversion projects. You give me some awesome new ideas for what to do with them. Thanks, dude!

Very cool. What are the fitting that you used?

I have a hard time seeing the snowspeeder as anything but that.  However, the M48, really looks like a really brilliant take on a slightly vintage future hover tank.

i couldn't place the base for the second vehicle. Even after peeps say what it is i still have a hard time.
Both conversions look very well done. You can obviously tell a snowspeeder but it still looks different.
Looking forward to more of your conversions.
