[KICKSTARTER] Forward Base Infinity terrain by Antenocitis

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2097161002/forward-base-sci-fi-scenery-for-infinity-wargamers

I am surprised this has not been mentioned yet, Antenocitis is funding some infinity-themed terrain.  Really nice stuff, I am tempted to get a module or two and have a go at modifying them to be underwater outposts.  Some photos:

Some cool alien terrain:

Wonder if they're gonna bring back their 28mm solar panels, air moves/conditioners and such?
Was looking for those a few months back and found them to be totally gone from their site along with a load of other stuff.  :?

This stuff as such is out of my price range too, despite how nice it looks.

I really have no idea what I'm doing.

I think it's all a bit meh. The Mass Effect 2 type buildings don't do a thing for me. If you want urban scenery they are a bit off. And other than that, it's all not that special IMO. Such a shame, had high hopes for this one.

Aren't these the Sarissa sci-fi pods brought out a while ago with a few acrylic additions  :?

Also, the bumpf about 'weathering' made me laugh, it's a natural occurrence of cutting the material and getting rid of it just means putting some backing tape over the surface so the tape absorbs the scorch  ::)

There's a little bit of 'black arts' going on there, not lying but twisting the truth to make it sound special.

Plants are nice though  :)

cheers

I rather like it, because it's very Mass Effect.

"Scorch-weathering" or not, I like the fact that these are mostly pre-coloured. I don't have an airbrush, and getting the clean sci-fi look is hard and time-consuming with a brush (and mostly, the time element is the bit I have in short supply). At least with these, they look like they would need little effort besides assembly to get them looking finished.

I'll be watching this, and may consider going halves with a friend perhaps (afterall, it takes two to play a game, so sharing the cost isn't so terrible!).

Why is there never any kitchens or bathrooms?

@Jonas:

I think they do have washroom fittings (not 100% what exactly), and there is a diner. Otherwise, heated ration packs eaten at your workstation? :P

Yes, it is quite possible. But what I really look for anyway is some stuff to build a modern city.

My wife always say they probably eat their food in pills and don't need toilets because they get 100% effecient food this way and have no waste product. They probably still need to shower though, unless they are all nano coated.

 lol

This isn't meant to be city scenery it's a forward base. These are the prefabs dropped down for settlers and prospectors.
Not for me though, good effort but not my style.
Some of the accessories could be useful, particularly the roof furniture, I could use that.

I know, I know  :D

I just tried to specify what i was actually looking for, instead of this stuff. But I could still find good use for a lot of the boxes and furniture stuff.

Sorry if I was being unclear.

Why is there never any kitchens or bathrooms?

There are

The internal resin 'panels' come with a number of different options so you can swap them about.

The ones for Habitat 1,3 and 4 all include "waste" panels, as well as accommodation panels that include sinks.

Oddly there's an interesting conversation somewhere in the kickstarter comments or on antenocitis website that discusses multi-functional showers that double as toilets... I've never played Infinity and wasn't aware that being shot with your power-trousers around your ankles was such a big problem.

The resin stuff is nice and I'd be interested in the separate panels for my own scratchbuilds. I do actually like the Mass Effect look but when will someone get a proper Mass Effect licence and do some decent figures?

This.

Decided to go in for the alien plants and the vehicles tho. Even if those sets aren't the main course, so to speak, and therefore don't get stretch goal luv and such.

I think I will go in for the plants and some of the resin scenery bits.  Looking at the buildings, I think it will be too much work to convert them into realistic underwater modules.  I can scratchbuild something from my hirst arts molds easily enough I would think, and it would be about $150 cheaper.  ;D
