Can you help me identify these 80s/90s plastic figures?
« on: 30 November 2014, 10:13:07 PM »
I found these at a car boot sale today -- I have a crapload of them. They look like HeroQuest-inspired models, but I don't know what game they're from. Anyone recognise them?

Even numbers of each type or are the armoured chaps leaders?

Looks like you have blue and grey ones. Similar numbers of each?

The hexagonal base seems familiar, but not one that I have.

Could it be one of the "Crossbows and Catapults" style of games?

There appear to be roughly even numbers of the types, and yes, they are in blue and grey. A lot of the barbarians have their horns broken off, which is why they are not in the background shot.

I Googled up Crosbows and Catapults figures, and I don't see these guys there -- although there was also a C&C figure in the bag that I got them in. I will keep looking. Thanks! Anyone else got an idea?

Well, I *do* have a crapload of spare ones if you want a few, and I'd be willing to let them go at rock-bottom prices. I don't need like 15 beardy archers.

Yes, you're right, they are from the Dungeonquest base-set.

Excellent -- that's them all right! Now why did this person have 30 of them, I wonder?

If you have 1 of each that'd be great, i'm currently hording these sort of single piece cartoony figures.

They were offered separately by GW mail order. I can only assume the previous owner wanted to make WHFB units with them.

That is the conclusion I had come to as well, so it's nice to have it confirmed!

Would you be willing to spare a set for trade or sale, James? I'm into these old boardgame style things...
