Chicago Cops from Tactical and West Wind
« on: December 23, 2014, 10:27:40 PM »
I recently finished painting up batches of cops from West Wind and Tactical Miniatures.  Very pleased with both lines, though they are quite different in style.  It was a first for me as I tried a bit of freehand (with mixed results) on the Chicago Flag insignia.  Regardless, I finally have some figs to accompany my CPD cruisers!

More pics and a review of the figures here:

Very nice.

I think that I prefer the Westwind figures.
The chunkier look works better in my eyes, although they do not look bad together.

Elwood: We're so glad to see so many of you lovely people here tonight. And we would especially like to welcome all the representatives of Illinois's law enforcement community that have chosen to join us here in the Palace Hotel Ballroom at this time.

You. Me. Them. Everybody. Everybody.....

"It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, we're wearing sunglasses and it's dark out. Hit it."

Sounds like a great teaser for a convention game. What system?

from Mr.Vampire: "It's the paintjob that makes the miniature fight harder not the size."

I hadn't even thought about Blues Brothers. Definitely something to consider…

Slightly related for Blues Brothers fans…
a buddy of mine built the Blues Brothers concert venue scene (exterior) in LEGO.

Coincidentally, its a very nice model of one of my favorite Chicago buildings the "South Shore Cultural Center", where the scene was filmed.

Nice work Karl.  I need to find a few of those CPD cars for our table.

Thanks!
They're still available really cheap on ebay.  Search for "1/43 Chicago" and they'll pop right up. I think they guy got them surplus or somesuch.
