The Argo 28mm
« on: 26 December 2014, 03:08:44 AM »
Greetings folks,

I made a model of the Argo for a few demo/participation games in Melbourne for 2015. I stole the idea from a blog that I saw whilst looking for reference material. I used the Revel 1/72 Viking Longship as the basis of the model and added a bit of plasticard and half a ton of miliput. As this is a wargaming model I did't add any rigging or a full sail in order to make it easier for moving figures on deck.

The game will be Jason & The Argonauts using Crooked Dice's 7th Voyage. It will involve a long 12' x 4' table with the ship sailing between islands with the crew needing to overcome dangerous obstacles and foes along the way.

For more photos and details on how I built the ship see my blog: http://this28mmlife.blogspot.com.au/

Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

Thanks for all the positive feedback. Half way through all the sanding it definitely became a labour of love.
