Victrix Republican Romans
« on: 28 December 2014, 07:39:50 AM »
As a bit of a side project James M and I purchased a box each of the armoured and un-armoured Republican Romans and took half a box of each.

Over the weekend I finished off the last few figures to complete my Alae.

Over the past few months while painting these I have been slowly re-basing my Gallic and Carthaginian collections so we can play either To the Strongest! or Hail Caesar.

Nice  :D
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Red, white and black for Romans is a bit passée, but works for me :)

I am just about to embark on a Punic War Roman army so it's nice to have some inspiration.  Great painting.

Ordered both the Roman box set one and two. I most likely should have asked before I ordered, but are there shield transfers in the boxes? Or do I need to order them separately?

No shield transfers in the sets.  You have to order them separately.

Nice work  :)

thanks for sharing  :)

P.S. How was the quality of the casting? I was tempted by these mins, but untypically for Victrix the boxes I checked had a lot of flash and so I chose not to buy them.
These days it's Warhammer the Old World and Freebooters Fate I am working on !

Fantastic! They are looking very good. Any chance for some close-ups?

Thanks chaps.

I though that that casting quality was very good with few mould lines.

There are some close-ups on the blog, but here are a few...
