GASLIGHT - City assualt in the Sudan
« on: 05 January 2015, 05:15:12 PM »
My friend Bill was kind enough to set up a game of GASLIGHT set in the Sudan.  The Fuzzy Wuzzy horde was preparing to assault a city under the of control of the British colonial forces.

The Fuzzy's goal was to retrieve and idol from the Kabala and to kill the defenders.  The British were trying to hold off the attackers and wanted to protect the citizens of the city.

It was a great battle and the Fuzzy's looked like they were going to have no problems, until the British gun boats showed up and took out the Fuzzy's boats with the cannons.

In the end, the Fuzzy's got away with their idol, but the British held the line and protected the city's civilians from the assault.

You can see more pictures on my blog.  http://gamingandshooting.blogspot.com/2015/01/gaslight-in-sudan.html

Thanks again to Bill for the great game and awesome table.  Thanks to my fellow combatants (Randy, Viking Mike, and Gene) as well for a battle well fought.
The winning player isn't always the better player.

The Mahdist's goal was to capture an ancient idol said to have been one of the original 365 idols of the Kaaba. It was a hard fought game but the Mahdist's managed to secure to the idol. The colonial powers did save the city from being over run by the Dervish horde. I really enjoyed running the game and had some excellent players.

I played in this game as the British defender and must admit it had the feel of a Hollywood epic with the poor colonials being overrun but getting their butts saved in the nick of time by Her Majesty's gunboats. A great job Bill as always!
