Another find on IKEA, good for trees
« on: January 07, 2015, 02:44:03 AM »
Found these bundles of twigs on IKEA:

http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/00234216/

These are great because they are scented (good for anyone who wants to...let's say...mislead...his significant other - "This? It's just some decoration for my work table, to take away the glue smell!") and they are already treated chemically so they don't rot.

The bigger ones already have holes on them, so they are good to go for basing. The assorted sizes make them good for several things - trees, log bunkers, debris, etc.

Good find, one of the railway modelling suppliers does a pack of twigs about a fifth of the size at a slightly higher price.

I use their florists sand for basing, it's very fine grain.
