Blake's Seven - Models and Batreps
« on: January 07, 2015, 10:19:10 AM »
Our big 'family' project for 2015 is to paint up a load of miniatures in order to recreate some of the fire-fights from the British science fiction television series "Blake's Seven". We'll be predominantly using models by "Crooked Dice Game Design Studio" as well as some resin pieces by "Ainsty Castings".

To begin with I've painted up Blake, Jenna and Vila...

and got some Terran Federation guards finished as well. Though there's loads more to come on that front  :)

I know "Crooked Dice" already do a free "Blake's Seven" PDF supplement for their "7TV" rule set. But as we mix and match genres, we'll be creating our own statistics etc. For example we've just held a game where Blake was joined by Rocket Raccoon and Groot [Marvel Comics].  ???

Happy to post the statistics here for those interested, and would be very pleased to see what others have come up with if they're doing something similar or gaming "Blake's Seven".

Latest update can found here: http://fantorical.blogspot.co.uk/2015/01/unit-three-move-in.html

Thanks for looking (and hopefully sharing)  :)

Those look good. I will be reading your blog post as soon as I get some extra time. In the meantime, I have a thread around here somewhere with my Blakes 7 miniatures. I still haven't found a game for them yet, but I've used the Federation Troopers a number of times. I'm thinking of using the crew for player characters in a Star Wars game.

...

I found my thread...

@Michka. Cheers Hopefully you'll find something on the blog which takes your interest and makes your time spent there worthwhile.

I've read your thread with great interest and enviousness. Hopefully we can gee each other along  :)

I'm hoping to get some B7 Batreps up on this thread as I play a load of "7TV" by "Crooked Dice" and plan to use these minis with that system as well. I also do a weekly AAR teaming characters up across different genres, so here's a quick link to my latest one which features Blake, Rocket Raccoon and Groot against Ultron  ;D

I looked through the AAR and it's a lot of fun. The idea of Blake's crew teaming up with Rocket and Groot is inspired. I mentioned your premise to my wife and her first question was "Does Blake know what he's getting into?" I could only say "No. He's in for a surprise."

@Michka - Really glad you enjoyed it. There were indeed a lot of surprises in that particular game  :D

@Chico - Good to hear from you buddy, and thanks for the welcome. Much appreciated. Already seen some inspirational stuff, and its places like this which help to gee me along. Now if I can only find someone painting a Skink army  ;D

You just need some disused quarry terrain and you'll be all set to recreate Blakes 7. Nice work.
