1:43 scale big bus for €6 (France)
« on: 17 January 2015, 10:34:02 AM »
I picked this up for the newsagent:

I can't decide if it is too big, even though 4 28mm figures could not "sit" in the seats

They will be doing a range, but the price goes up to 20 euors a model, that said the extras freebies - though not pulp - are fairly good.

It looks like an excellent fit. If I find the time,  I might pop over the border to pick one up.

Here is a photo of a Citroen T45 to judge. The bus may be slightly too big, but it's all subjective in the end.

That is lovely.  I always use 1/43 vehicles with 28mm so that is not an issue for me.  Who painted that Tesla backpacked guy?  Must have been a genius ;D

A little too big for my tastes. Pre-50's cars ARE large and always look large next to people, but when the hood is over head height it also very occasionally can cause mechanical issues in games (i.e. shooting from behind a hood should count as cover and not as fully blocking terrain). Of course if you're playing only with people you know well, that shouldn't be an issue, but there are enough cars and trucks that do fit well that I don't mind sticking to those. Also, if the cars are too big they really make my buildings look small, because like most people, my buildings are already at a greatly reduced scale to fit on the tabletop usefully.

As a general rule I go for three things: Hood is under head height, tires up to roughly waist height (for cars more so than trucks), minis look like they could actually fit inside (this last one disqualifies tons of smaller cars, like the Lldeo lineup). And I guess I also go for "Looks like it could match my existing fleet".

But it's a very very very nice model. It looks perfectly fine if you don't mind the scale fudging. Lots of people are totally okay with 1/43 vehicles.

I'm curious if this is going to get published in any other European countries, or how expansive it would be to get it to the Netherlands otherwise.

EvilBay is not kind in any case.  :?

What a great bus and it looks to me to be just in the right scale. 28mm are chunkier than real humans so they need bigger cars :)

I'll be trying to get that one.

Reading the fine print on the legal terms - seems to me you have to live in France to subscribe to this offer. Bummer.
