Start of an Argonauts force
« on: 17 September 2008, 12:39:14 PM »
Ok, it's only one model so far, but I have the rest of the merry bronze age swashbucklers ready to go. Hope to use Rattraps Broadsword rules.

This is supposed to be a slightly older and wiser Jason, sometime between his Fleece quest and getting hit on the noggin by Argos' prow.

Beautiful  :-* - very tastefully done! Can't wait to see the rest of the gang!

Harpies and Fang Warriors, bring 'em on!

Nice one. I'm considering painting up a few Argonauts myself.

Looking forward to seeing more, it will keep me inspired.

They even possibly fight against your colonial forces "Emin Pasha's" to stop Germans to seize control of their secret base in Africa!

This is really good  :)

Love the subtle, subdued painting of the "cloth."  And the metals.  Great.  How did you paint the helmet?

Ooh, there's lovely. Wonderfully 'soft' style of painting.

I hope there'll be some Ray Harryhausen-type monsters for Jason and his cohorts to polish off!

Thanks! Coming from you high praise indeed 8)

The metal was painted over dark green, then 'stippled' on using an old brush, from bronze to gold then to silver, then a wash of chestnut ink, dabbed off from the highlights with a tissue.

I hope to have a snake tailed Medusae as well as harpies and Bronze Golems, and some Otherworld skeletons for them to battle. Historical accuracy (in myths?) be damned  ;)

Thanks  :)  I've made notes.
