Looking cool, that brickwork looks great, need to use that in some build myself.

Oh, do place the Santa's factory in Korvatunturi ;)

Very neat build. I don't know how you do it whilst watching the telly; I manage to get things wrong all the time even when giving the build all my concentration.

Slow progress - started on the balcony...

...and stairs...

...along with getting the roof ridges worked out.

Hmm, I should have done the roof ridges the same way you did but I dediced to stick with what I started and it took me whole evening to get a result that I am not totally happy with  :?

Well it's really the ridge (along the top) and the pseudo rafters (going from the ridge to the top of the walls) I did. The pedant in me has to correct that.

It won't be as elegant as Tony's solution though. Definitely filed that one away for latter.

Stairs, balustrades and handrails complete with the first run of dry-brushing:

The black object will become an oil/fuel tank.

I also had an idea to use my green ink (only use it for orc and goblins) on the bottom half of the timber to simulate moss. I'm looking forward to trying that out in a week or two when I do the final painting.

Thanks both of you - there's three and a bit weeks to go. I need to get cracking as I need to paint a 15mm Renaissance army for April (so far having finished about 20%). I'm not a painting machine like Mason, Bibbles, et al. so while I'm behind Dr Zombie, I have to keep going in case I lose steam ;)

That said, no one here is going to notice I made the effort and mitred the match stick handrails. I will be pointing them out to the first person who gets to see it (SWMBO or otherwise).

Finally got the roof on and added some detail. Painted what would be easy to paint now. Still needs a few highlights and then weathering.

All (!) that's left to do is the ridge capping, the chimney (it's only half finished), a window on the tower, the billboard/sign ("Santa's Toy and Firework Factory"), paint/weather everything and then add little details (posters and rockets).

Currently I'm on track to finish early (the benefit of a restricted base to work from).

Thanks guys.

Matt - more than likely as I have the time. I'll have to find a technique that looks good and I can pull off.

Still undecided what colour to paint the roof. Any suggestions?
