Only a little snow on the roof (the elves are making fireworks inside ;)), but leaning towards a red too. Maybe with a few bare sheets.

I thought red as it is Santa's... But you could do the striped roofs you see around heritage homes, off white and maroon. ;)

Check the scale of corrugated sheeting, convert to your scale and paint stripes that wide. Bunnings sells a wide range from what I can tell, so 25mm or wider should be ok, but perhaps roof sheeting comes larger. (I checked to see how big I needed to cut my corrugated card for my build)

Cheers
Matt.

Thankfully I'm in a fantasy setting so I can get away with the DeafNala effect (do anything you want).

But red and white stripes is my new favourite choice. Thanks for the idea.

Inspiring build!

I think I'm going to use corrugated cardboard for the frame on my first Dark Age Buildings, too.  :)
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

Thanks Argonor - make sure to use the small scale stuff.

And I think I found a solution to match my hobby skill for icicles that others may find useful:

Hmmm... must be possible to buy clear acrylic rods from somewhere instead of using the pegs from flying stands.

Also, if using pliers of some sort, it should be possible to use shorter pieces?

I have aircraft model sprues for the cockpits, etc - plenty of clear rod.

Ah, of course - didn't think of that (haven't built/bought any kits with clear canopies/Windows for ages).  :)

Rather cute.

I have been Googling "zombie gingerbread men" and getting ideas on how to expand this project already (stay on target!). For what purpose? No idea!

Thanks.

Latest update - glued all the paper ridge capping and flashing down, covered it in PVA to strengthen. Once that is dry I'll start painting the roof.

I also designed the billboard sign in MS Paint (I was too lazy to load Photoshop onto the new machine). It looks okay - will get overpainted/weathered. Only thing to build is the rest of the chimney - still looking for the last bits. Let's see how today goes (two weeks to go!).

Final stretch! Just need to do a run over with silver/gunmetal and then brown/black inks, followed by decals and snow flock.
