Sorry, I meant to say 2 pence piece, about 30mm.

Hand must've slipped on the keyboard. Damn my sausage fingers!  :D

We have the Neville archer unit completed:

Some more pictures and comparison shots with the Percys on the blog. Not far off now - two more Units and both basic retinues will be completed! http://critfailure.blogspot.co.uk/2015/03/storm-of-arrows-redux.html

(There's also a Warhammer AAR report on there for anyone who wants to see me get beaten again)

I really like the fact that you can start to see different characters emerging for the different factions, depending on which of the components you use and how you put them together. And that you can build on this to give a quite distinctive feel to different retinues. They kind of take on a life of their own, don't they?  :)

Sorry for the long silence chaps, but Ofsted, holidays and various family issues have kept me rather busy. However, today I finally got the chance to try out the retinues on the field of combat.

The full AAR is on the blog - The Battles of Much Frottage and Porking on the Wold - but here's a few piccies:

Nice!
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Hello chaps!

Well, it's been six months but I've finally finished my two retinues - just in time to mount a battle for Open Evening at school in September.

Here we see the Nevilles, belying their reputation by looking quite noble in the blue and white...

And here we see the slightly more grizzled Percys.

The full work in progress shots - and the explanations for some of the most egregious historical errors - can be found on my blog.

Mind you, when I say finished, they do kind of look lonely without cavalry, don't they....?
