Always liked the Firestorm ships. I hope the HALO stuff is comparable in size.

Some more pictures of the upcoming game here

There are some dice lying about on the table if anyone wants to try to work out what size the ships are o_o

I saw that table at Salute and the ships were very nice indeed. They also had a pair of Warthogs in a case but when asked about the miniatures game, all they would say is "next year".

As good as the ships are, all I want is a pelican drop ship scaled to fit in with 28mm miniatures :(

...and the game is 15mm instead of 28mm, unfortunately. I suppose that makes sense with all the vehicles involved.

It would be close to 2 feet long though... if they do a 15mm version, it will still be about 30cm long. To be honest, I don't care how big it is, just so long as they make one. I need a Pelican. Best sci-fi vehicle design ever. :-*

Much as I hate to link the cesspit that is BoLS here, there are lot of pics here: http://www.gamewire.belloflostsouls.net/back-from-salute/

Including enough shots of the ships to allow some working out of scale.

And a 15mm scorpion tanks.. :D

I think 15mm would be quite a good scale for a Ground war HALO game, so you can conduct all the big assaults and stuff.

28MM would be like the Multiplayer skirmish. It just wouldn't necessarily meet the big battles ideal.

Although don't discount the possibility of 28mm Halo figures. Because originally 28mm and 15mm were included in the concept for their Planetfall game. With 10mm for major battles, 15mm for sizeable skirmishes and 28mm for commando/spec ops games.

Maybe we could see that come into fruition with HALO? Only without the 10mm.

And they also have the "28mm" Dystopian series game (it's more @ 35mm I suppose but still). Not sure tho if the clix version of Halo is still alive or not. If it is, that deal might preclude making one since it could be considered to be in competition, unlike a space game or a 15mm game.

The Clix game is dead as a door-nail - we didn't see any tie ins released for Halo 4 from Wizkids so it's probably safe to assume the deals expired.

Yeah I have gotten the impression that the Clix game is dead.

The Clix game itself is going strong, but they have cut back on the non comic sets. I was really hoping to see more Halo, but I don't think the first set did as well as they hoped.

technically they did have a release for Halo 4, they rereleased the Haloclix set but with regular heroclix dials/cards/rules and made a single additional version of Master Chief that had Cortana in his hand. I was pretty unimpressed, but at least I snagged a few "new" ones for cheap to repaint.

I'm excited for the 15mm game, SUPER excited! We already have plenty of not-spartans in 15mm and there was a kickstarter for 15mm not-covenant infantry including not-grunts, not-jackals, not-elites and not-brutes. All of them are just different enough to not get sued over. But, there hasn't been any real scource for the Halo vehicles. Critical Mass makes a tank that's similarish to the scorpion, but nobody has a good Warthog or covenant vehicles. And it'll be great to get it all in plastic, and to have the exact, licensed figures that don't have to skirt around IP infringement.

Doubt I'll play Halo itself, probably I'll use Gruntz rules. Halo ship combat still has zero interest for me, but I'm really pleased with what I see for the ground stuff!

There were the toy/figure sets that were more of a 20mm. Not the same I know.

Release date for Halo Fleet Battles is 20th July. The cost is £80.00 :o - details

Sadly, you need to spend £100 to qualify for free p&p. Not sure how much shipping is, as their calculator doesn't seem to be working...
