Here is a second battle of SDT. Tried to do a Last of the Mohicans. The saving of Alice.
An overview of the battlefield.

Magua and Alice with 8 warriors advance onto the mountain.

Closer view of the party.

A few of Magua's braves move from the band to take on Hawkeye. Seen in the lower middle of the photo.

Here are all three of the Heroes moving to attack. At the start of the game, their shooting was very poor.

Magua and Alice on the move. So far so good.

In fact the Heroes' shooting was sooo bad, I rolled 2 ones and a 2 in one turn. More of this, Magua gets Alice off the end with ease.

Hawkeye moves to attack and kills a brave, but is knocked down by fire. He is able to stand up his next action. Chingachook and Uncas keep moving forward to catch Magua and Alice.

Magua, Alice and one brave still on the move. At this time he figured he would be home free.

Well I have lost a few photos. Sorry about that. But the Heroes decide to roll 3 dice for actions, that worked and they were able to overcome more braves and move close to Magua and Alice.
Magua leaves Alice with a brave and moves to attack Uncas. Chingachgook moves in support. Hawkeye is by the yellow, ring moving forward.

Magua moves to attack. They tie in melee. They back out. Then Uncas rolls for his actions and gets three of them. I then realized that he had not shot. He fires and kills Magua.

Uncas moves to save Alice. He melees with the brave.

Uncas rolls high, the brave goes down, dead. Alice is saved.

A close up Alice and 2 of the Heroes.

A close photo of Hawkeye who trailed behind most of the battle. He did improve his shooting and downed  many braves. That freed up Uncas and Chingachgook to go after Magua.

The Heroes in the second half took a lot of chances by rolling three dice for actions. I did get lucky and made most rolls. On the other hand Magua's rolls got worst as the game moved on.
I got very lucky in melee, rolled high, Magua rolled very low.
A fun game. Love these rules for Skirmish warfare.

Awesome -- love the ebb and flow of the battle! And wouldn't you know it? I am painting those very same figures right now!

What stats did you end up going with for the heroes? Just curious, as this is very similar to a scenarios I'm running in less than 2 weeks at Cold Wars....

Oh, and I assume it is okay if I link your AAR from our company battle report page? Good stuff!

Hi Mike,
I used the stats from the rules for all three heroes and for Magua.
The braves were, Qu. 4 Combat 2. They were all musket armed, woodsmen and scalper.
Please feel free to link my battle report as you see fit.

Thanks for the comments.

Here is my third battle of SDT.
The setting comes from the movie" Northwest Passage."- Roger's Rangers have attacked the Indian village of St Francis.
They retreat and head back to the colonies, with French and Indians in hot pursue. Low on food they decide to split up their unit.
That way it would be easier to gather food. Major Rogers, another officer and 8 other Rangers, in one group are on the move. That is when the game starts.
The Rangers had to move to the end of the table. (About 5 feet long.)
Indians come in on die rolls at different points as rolled by dice.

The Rangers on the table.

First Indians on the battlefield.

Rangers are almost to the stream They have fired at some Indians.(White is smoke for fired muskets, little rocks keep track of who moved.)

Rangers are staying together. Rogers and the other officer have the Leadership trait, which is working well. The Indians have figures on both sides, no Chief on the table yet.

"Advance Rangers and get across the water." Rogers yells.

The Indian Chief and 2 other Indians come on the table behind the Rangers.

Indians on the flank fire at the Rangers. With Quality4, they had a hard time reloading.

Good shooting by the Indians cause some of the Rangers to go down.

The Rangers need to keep advancing or all will be lost.

You can see the red rings on the table, they are the dead.( I think in the next fight I will leave the dead on the table.) At this point about 3 Indians and 4 Rangers had gone down.

Disaster strikes, Major Rogers is killed. When a figure with the Leadership trait goes down all figures of the unit take a morale test. The beginning of the end of the Rangers.
After the morale tests the Rangers are moving towards the side of the table. Not the direction they wanted to head.

The Indians start to move in for the finish.

The Chief and some of his Braves on the move. The Chief was having a good day, having killed a Ranger and then scalped him.

Indians all around the Rangers, about 9 Indians, 4 Rangers.

At this time the remaining Rangers moved to the side of the table and then off.

That was the end of the game. Rangers started with 10 figures. Total number of Indians was 14, with 11 Indians on the table at any one time. The Ranger player has some bad luck with the dice. He rolled 2 failures causing him forfeit the rest of his turn. This happen a number of times, during the second half on the battle. Such is luck at times.
