Casa de Salinas - Talavera 1809
« on: February 15, 2015, 12:53:19 PM »
Hi all,
We played our first run through of the Casa de Salinas scenario as part of a series of games moddeling the events of the Battle of Talavera in 1809.

It what proved to be a very difficult set up for the British rearguard and a near costly mistake made during the withdrawal, the casualty bill ended up slightly favouring the British force, with a remarkable stand by the 1/88th and 2/87th battalions.

Great report - always wanted to give carnage and glory a go, even purchased the English Civil War version but had trouble getting to grips with the interface. Thanks for sharing :)

Cheers adamish,
I hope you get the urge to go back and have another go with C&G, they're well worth the effort IMHO. There is a great support group on Yahoo, and Nigel Marsh, the rules author, is always very prompt and helpful in answering questions and sharing ideas. Likewise I'm happy to share my thoughts if you leave me a message on the blog.
All the best
JJ
