Seven Years War 15mm AAR - Devon Wargames Group
« on: 15 February 2015, 07:05:17 PM »
Hi all,

We had a fun game at the Devon Wargames Group yesterday playing the Koenig Krieg ruleset, with lots of toys on the table.

The cloths are the old Games Workshop offering. I'm not sure if they are still available.

Sadly, they cancelled them shortly after this came out:

You have to smile, when they plug "portable" in their add. You can't get more portable than a 6' x 4' cloth which I might suggest gives greater variability on terrain set up than any fixed board you could design.

If I were to fault the cloths, it would be that relentless green, which is why I prefer something like Terrain Mat to stage my own games on. However for a club game where we aim for fun by getting all the toys out and just enjoy playing, those green cloths are great.

Cheers
JJ

I'm trying to make my games brighter these days, so a relentless green matte would be ideal.  I just love the way it looks with the painted armies in their nice stark colours and clear flags.  From your blog post:

Fantastic!
