I think some of the leg poses of the Helsmaidens are a bit off, e.g. the far right one.
But on the whole, I think these are great sculpts ( remind me a bit of Frazetta ) and doubtless will pick some of them up later.  :)

Yeah, there is something seriously wrong with the musculature of those women's legs. Womens' legs, even heavily muscled ones, just don't work that way.

The basic problem is that women still retain a female curve, even in hideous bodybuilder mode. The only way you don't get that is with boyish girls with flattened shapes, but that body type is irreconcilable with a hyper-muscled one.

So if you give a female model over-muscled thighs, those thighs still need to be quite wide; in short, the problem is that those barbarian women have no hips or asses.

Of course it's possible Tre has "a thing" for this look... he'd hardly be the first sculptor to sculpt "what he likes"...  ::) lol

Its fun to stay at the ... Y...M...C...A!

 lol

I think Duke Donald put it a bit strongly but I basically agree. For one thing, like wot's been said, the five barbars here have basically the same hip-dislocation hyper-splayed stance. Two are doing a very similar pec-squeeze thing, one an overhead swing, one just standing there. The crouching guy is a bit different but, well, it's almost exactly the same pose as the first 'different' pic you posted, Vauln. I think I saw it on one of his boneback goblins too.

The mounted champion harks back to another point: just why are it's legs so far apart?

Very well detailed of course, but unless you've got a thing for barbarians or are looking for more new ones (which I don't and am not) it all just feels a bit samey.
