FIW Indians in military style coats
« on: February 20, 2015, 11:52:32 AM »
Does anyone produce FIW Indians in military style coats in 28mm.
I like the idea of having some figures in a mixture of Indian/Military type clothing.
See the Mi'kmaq Chief on this page for example

I think Old Glory also has 1 or 2 in coats and 1 in tricorn.
Perry miniatures have 1 in coat.

Make a crossover !

Body of a french/english ranger officer or regular and give him an indian head and some feathers, etc....With indians weapons that's could work ! 8)

and give the european head to the indian body. Add some feather and warpaint and you get a new indian with a tricorn. no spare parts lost in the process.    :D

Here's the Perry miniature, found in their Woodland Indian Chiefs pack. He is second from the left:

Third from right here:

Conquest Miniatures also do at least one:

I also like nervisfr's idea for a conversion!

Their Sauk/Fox range has a pack with 2 figs in a form of Euro style coat...

My treatment of them:

Back of fig

And the other guy:

...and back

May or may not be what you are looking for, but thought I'd show them to you...

Thanks for posting a picture of the Redoubt figure Captain Blood, I couldn't really make it out on the Redoubt website.
Again thanks to everyone for there help, just waiting for a space on my painting table before I order a few more figures (I think the little blighters are breeding, the pile of lead is always growing :).

No problem  :)

(The problem, of course, is that because everyone bar Front Rank sells their figures in packs, not as singles, you are going to have to buy a lot of Woodland Indians to get the few figures depicted wearing C17th soldiers' coats... But I guess you can always sell on the surplus figures... )

Eric

That is what I think I would do, I would use Compagne de la Marine figures and head swap.
