I'd go for 7TV. Which I bought (beautiful presentation, incidentally) but have not used yet - only for lack of time; I haven't played a game in years.
It definitely includes rules for the sort of character types you want.

I second 7TV. Fistful of Kungfu might be a good alternative.

7TV was pretty much purpose-made for Bond (amongst other things) and indeed plays as if it was an actual movie or TV show. I would also suggest Pulp Alley, as despite its nominal '30s theme it is pretty timeless when you come down to it. Both are quite different games delivering the same end result. While both have supplements and add-ons, you can still have a good game with just the basic rules, but both get better the more you add. Both also accommodate the sort of 'one (or few) versus many' format very well too.

If you just want a simple pick-it-up and shoot-it-out type game, Ganesha's Flying Lead rules do the job and are low-investment in terms of both cost of the rules and game preparation. It does however lack the 'narrative' element of the other two, which I imagine would be part and parcel of playing a Bond-themed game.

If you were to go with pulp alley I would especially recommend the guns gadgets and vehicles book as that has a particularly high bond potential.

Another option apart from the excellent 7TV is Geezers Royale:

There is also Larger than life from two hour wargame. I believe it has been (or will be soon) updated.

Also a "pulp" game, but probably can be used for this kind of game (personaly I bought it for cthulu, indiana jone and james bond style adventures...but it still be a bit low in the priorities list...).

If anyone has seen the show Venture Bros. (First 2 seasons are on Netflix). I basically want to be able to game that show. It sounds like 7TV is the best option. Does anyone have a good AAR that shows how the game plays.

Thanks for the kind recommendations for 7TV. It's designed for Spy-Fi games with loads of flex to build your casts of Stars, Co-stars and Extras.

Lots of battle reports and info on the Crooked Dice forum. Drop me an email if you'd like to join.

I've thought about this myself, and you certainly wouldn't want a standard set of skirmish rules--one man versus an extinct volcano-full of guards with SMGs isn't usually the basis for a balanced [or very lengthy] game.

There was an old 007 RPG, and a lot of supplements created for the various Bond movies, back in the dark ages, e.g. last century.

I think it might have been produced by TSR, but not 100% sure about that.

Worth checking into if you are a Bond fanatic, or just want some good scenario info, for the official RPG, and/or other rules.
