Always good to have more variety

Yes, I am 100% with you. If possible I would have done a few more different bodies (one more reloading and one releasing the sling), but I think it is better for me spending the money on other figures (there is so much stuff lacking for Hellenistic armies that I want!).

It looks like there were slingers using shields, but why did they use it? I suppose that would not give them much protection against in-coming missiles, but are they equipped with shields so they can engage other skirmishers in melee and chase them away from the battlefield?
Any thought about the subject?

These do look good. I have one niggle though, sorry.

Is that sword a little big and heavy looking?

Wouldn't stop me having a unit of them though!!

Thanks for the comments, I do appreciate it.
Yes, I think you are right. I was just looking at the prototype, and the sword looks a little to big. I think it is too wide. Maybe also to long?

Now I have got the prototypes, glued them together (head and body, very simple), and painted one of them!
Remember this prototype was used printed in a low resolution printer, so you can actually see the edges between the different layers.
If/when I cast them they will be printed in a good high resolution printer!

Cool project!
Looks like you found a blank space in all ancient ranges. What are you casting the end product in? Will they be for sale somewhere?

Kind Regards

The short sword should be about half a meter in length so actually you're not far off. Perhaps it's the width of the scabbard, not the breadth. But honestly it's not really a big issue it was just a thought.  :)

Thanks!
I will most likely produce them in white metal. I will sell them myself, when I am ready to sell them I will give details about it on my blog (kestros.blogspot.com) and Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Kestrophedrone)
Hopefully they will go into production soonTM.

What is the status of the figures right now?
They are being printed! If I understand it correct they will be send to the caster for making master figures tomorrow. The printing and mastercasting is not done in EU, but production will be.

I think it is a good thought, after talking to the sculptor we decided to make the scabbards less wide.
