1812 Old Guard

Inspired by recent events at Tactica in Hamburg I painted up a nice little Perry. Having seen what others have done with the same figures I almost feel ashamed for not showing a unit as I don't feel this has the quality worthy of a 'singly figure photo'. But aaaanyway:







I am going to paint 5 more (rest of the pack) and a good 6 Russian farmers.

I tried not to exaggerate the colours/highlighting to fantasy levels.

My goodness does he look cold. I love the pale skin - it really carries the mood across. The overall paint scheme looks quite nice; I prefer the more realistic coloring myself on historical miniatures. May I ask what paint colors you are using for your blue overcoat? (it's just the right shade I've been trying to achieve on some naval figures)

Oh but I am! It just takes me forever to finish a miniature when I am working on more than one in a go. 
I suspect a crew will fire their guns end of next week.

I bought a Wargames Foundry set called Prussian Blue at Tactica and used some of that. I haven't really tried Foundry before but I found them to be quite good. I mixed a bit and arrived at the result here.
