Indeed the project is a Fantasy one, but don't dismiss the plastic figures if you're just a Historical player, there are lots of Early Medieval possibilities there.

Eureka should have some 28mm Maori (pre-European contact), 28mm Chaos creatures, 18mm AB Waterloo vignette and AB 20mm WW2
Possibly some 28mm Pulp/WW2 flying GI Girls too.

On the planned list is a Milites war band for Cross and Crescent from GB, a couple of 4 Ground buildings, some extra minis from GCT games for my Bushido and a couple of Rubicon tanks for my Chain of Command Russians.

However, like a little boy, as this Salute is just after payday (!), I'll have a pot of money in my pocket for those (exciting) unplanned purchases to add to the lead/must read pile!!!!! :D

It's unusually my first show of the year and as I'm off on holiday on the Sunday, I need to pick up lots of reading material.

See you all in the pre-paid Q!

Don

Eureka are apparently premiering some Bruegel/Bosch inspired figures that look rather tasty. According to Nic at Eureka there will be 11 foot figures, two 'horses, one rider and a dog in the full set  8)

EDIT - ah, drat - didn't see that Nic had already mentioned the "28mm chaos creatures" a couple of posts up. I'm still excited by them  ::)

Are you trading at Salute as I couldn't see you on the list of traders?

I would like to pick up some of your flags.

I placed my first order to collect at Salute last night with Fenris Games so the countdown has begun. tickets bough, flights booked and Oyster card about to be fed.

My impression so far is that there is less that I know about that I want than in previous years but that can change. The Lucid Eye figures look very good and there are lots of plastic boxed sets to pick up and I want a good look at a Cigar Box gaming mat as they look very tempting.

We are already very excited about Frostgrave and 'lots of wizardy types' are on the shopping list. I was hoping to see a demo game of it as well but I don't think there is one.

Have you seen my Faceache announcement on Frostgrave?

https://www.facebook.com/northstarmilitaryfigures/photos/a.218637431498500.77933.218634441498799/1025921010770134/?type=1&theater

Unfortunately it's not a Salute release, so we'll have nothing to sell. It'll be out in July, and the Nickstarter pre-order program will start in May.

What we will have to show for Frostgrave is the painted figures (all by Kev Dallimore) on the Osprey stand, with myself and Joe the author around to chat to. We'll also have the painted '3 Ups' of the plastic figures, if you don't know what they are, come by the Osprey stand.

We'll also have a Frostgrave participation game going on in the Wargames Illustrated area. There's room for 4 players at a time, we'll give you a stripped down Wizards party that should give you a feel for the game and you'll be done in 1/2 hour.

Yes, that was a bit of exciting news, a bit spoilt by my trying to explain why I was so excited to some mundanes.

I am looking at a lot of my terrain and wondering about winterising it and my brother is thinking about adding snow to the bases of the Otherworld hobgoblins he is working on.

Here is a photo of some Fireforge Games Foot Sergeants Kev Dallimore painted for Frostgrave, on our Frostgrave terrain.

Edit: I don't think it's worked, I'll try again.

I think you'll find that there's a TFL demo game of 'Fighting Season' - Leigh Neville's forthcoming CoC supplement for present day COIN in Afghanistan/Iraq. Not so sure about it's impending release at the same time though... however, TFL do have a habit of surprising people.

I wouldn't mind having a go at painting some of the Frostgrave stuff up actually.... they look like great mini's  8) 8) 8)

I think Footsore are there, on the Warlord Games stand.

Unit deal of Saxon Fyrd and Bowmen added to the list then!!  :o

She started off making dice bags and has branched off into all sorts of side projects along the way.

Brilliant  8) 8) 8)

They do- I had the honour of taking part in a play test of their tactical level Boer War game at WorLard ("wor" being a NE colloquialism meaning "our") at our club in Durham. It was an excellent game, played very well, reflected the learning curve in British tactics and also introduced a new mechanism (a stroke of genius- it will be copied!) that I have never encountered in any game in my wargaming career!
