Buildings for the Sudan. What is available out there?
« on: March 15, 2015, 08:54:15 AM »
Ok people. Time to tap the collective. I will be moving on to terrain works for my Sudan project. While I am happy to construct from scratch , it would also be useful to have an idea of what is out there already that is suitable for 28mm. Anything from the smallest of habitats to a larger palace or Mosque..

Over to you lot..
Cheers

I got all my middle-eastern buildings from the Colonial Steamboat Company. He does custom stuff, too.

Slug industries has a three part building and loads of walls and wall doors.
www.najewitz-modellbau.de Also has some very nice buildings a little difficult to assemble but great looking.
Miniature Building Authority has buildings in both 15 and 28mm and ready painted
All these 28mm buildings fit well together.

There is also Grand Manner of course, and Crescent Root whose stuff looks really nice. I think Caliver also do some in 28mm, certainly in 15mm as I've got some and they are very good and nicely priced.

Grand Manner all the way for me:

Beautiful Gunboats too!

I think Hovels do a nice little square shaped mosque/shrine.

I don't know if Monolith are still trading - sometimes I hear they are, sometimes I hear they are defunct.

If you can get hold of their stuff though, they do (or did) a large and superb range of adobes ideal for the near east / middle east and beyond, including Egypt and the Sudan. They also do (did?) an ancient Egyptian range which also includes a lot of eminently suitable buildings. Worth checking out.

4Ground have some painted MDF items coming out at Salute, designed with Crescent and Cross in mind but still usable.
