A probing action on the Western front
« on: March 20, 2015, 01:13:26 PM »
It's 1917 and the Verdun Front is particularly quiet. However the French lines are subjected to an intense bombardment including the deadly Green-Cross gas.

German troops can be seen emerging from the gloom, can they break through to the rear of the French lines?

James and I played a rather splendid game of Chain of Command yesterday evening.

Cheers for another good game - much closer than last time!  Need to finish the second wave of French on the painting table.

The shell holes and entrenchments by Early War Minis are very good ; though obviously they don't have the realism of a sculpted terrain board with trenches carved into the surface, they are spot on for club gaming and very versatile for scenarios.

Another excellent AAR.
I like the fact you can use C of C
for many different periods.
I agree with you about terrain,
terrain boards or set on the table terrain.
Both have their advantages.
