Oh I have painted all my GB metal vikings, so can spot them in the earlier pictures. I was just kind of disapointed by especially the hands on them.

Also my wallet likes plastic but my mind likes the metals...

I have made another dung heap. You can never have enough dung in the dark ages.

Are you and Dr The Viking having a dung arms race?  lol

(It's another very fine dung heap, by the way. Am going to have to have a go at some of those myself  :))

Definately we cannot have a dung gap!  ;D

Also I finished these 3 chaps with banners.

I'll se if I can manage a better picture over the weekend. And perhaps work a bit with getting the banners to look a little less stiff.

Unless you paint 1 or 2 plastics you will never know if you like it. ;)
I think the carolingian looks ok but a helmeted one migh do the trick.
If you have the saxons box use one of the nasal helms. Perhaps it changes the look.

I finished up some more guys for the shieldwall some more lively than others..

I also painted up my wannabe Carolingan warrior. I am still not sure if I like him or not.

Pictures are horrible but I blame the light..

It's the Dark Ages, you're excused. Nice additions.

I think you would be better off using the same bodies (the viking/dark age warriors) but another kind of heads for the Carolingian.

It's the head that does the figure more than anything else in the Dark ages. To me at least.

I don't really like that scale mail coat. It looks more fantasy than history.

I might have to bite the bullet and go for Artizan Carolingians maybe mixed up with some Byzantines from Crusader miniatures.

Excellent!

They have a lot of Asterix about them with the moustaches!

Some very cool looking figures and terrain. It reminds me of the TV series Vikings. Thanks for sharing.

Nothing much has happened with this since last. I am awaiting a replacement bit for my airbrush so I can get started on some buildings.
I broke the nozzle on my airbrush by dropping it whilst cleaning it.

But I have been playing a few games of Hail Caesar and I really like it. Now the thought of rebasing has crept into my mind. But I am not completely sure. Single bases just give so much more flexibility. But multibases just look cool.

Here is the complete army as it stands (in a very crappy hurried photo).

Get/make some movement trays for your single based minis, problem solved :)

Any more dung heaps done? And what kind of buildings will be we treated with? :D

There's like what? 1,5 Hail Caesar units there...  lol

Unless you're going for a different scale than in the rulebook.
