Crazy, wonderful pyramid for my 28s
« on: 11 April 2015, 08:44:07 PM »
It’s been awhile since I posted my 28mm Pulp Egyptian archeological gallery and during the intervening period I have seen several interesting terrain pieces that would have been nice additions to that gallery, but I’ve resisted buying them simply because I was trying to act like an adult and avoid silly temptations.  But today all that adult stuff flew out the window when I saw this resin pyramid on my Saturday visit to my local swap meet.  There is no indication of the manufacturer.  I paid $25 for it.  The pyramid is 15 ½ “ at the base and 17 ½ “ tall.  It bears no relationship to reality… it is absolutely crazy, BUT absolutely wonderful.  I’ve added a Reaper 28mm figure for scale, and I’ve provided pictures of all its sides.

I agree with both "crazy" and "wonderful".

if you have crazy and wonderful - who cares about "reality"?  that's a great find and yet another reminder to keep your eyes (and wallet) open all the time.

That is fantastic.  I wonder where and when it was originally made.

Thanks to all of you for writing.  This was a rather odd posting for me as it involved nothing that I had actually produced.  I was simply lucky enough to have found it and bought it.  The fact is I posted these pictures just as soon as I got home from the swap meet ... I was really happy and excited by this thing and had the urge to show the world or at least that small piece of the world that might see it on LAF.  As was mentioned by Andym my swap meet has been extremely kind/generous to me over the many years I have been attending it... lots of neat stuff for my hobby, but I am sure that just as important as the treasure/broken toys are in bringing me back week after week the gift of the unexpected pulls me back as well.  This pyramid is the essence of that gift of the unexpected.  Until I saw this thing on Saturday morning I had no idea that it existed... a real "Oh Wow!" moment for me.  Thanks for sharing that moment with me or perhaps I should say for allowing me to share it with you.  If anyone has any idea what the origins/original use or manufacturer of this pyramid is/are, please let me know because I am curious.  Thanks again for taking a look and sharing my pleasure.  Richard
