StarWars Command Figs
« on: 15 April 2015, 11:41:03 PM »
Nils and I started a project for our sons, we decided to use the StarWars Command Figs as they are available cheap and have a nice scale for children. I'm not going to spend too much time painting them as they will be used mainly by the boys, but I think they look quite nice once painted.

Here's a pic, tell me what you think!

Looking cool, though a bit lacking on the rebels side!  lol

If that's a quickie job I'd hate to see what happens when you take your time. They look excellent. I bought myself some of the Republic clone troopers and they are nice little models, now I am even more inspired.
 :o
They will not force us,
They will stop degrading us,
They will not control us,
We will be victorious!!

I just got some of the Sandtroopers from that same line in the mail this morning. Nice little models for the price. your painted up wonderfully.

Cheers.

Thanks guys!

No, they will not go to the sandpit... They'll get their own Tatooine board.

Mace is a bit late for the timeline we chose but he was in the set. Nils will paint Han, Chewie and Luke soon and I have R2D2 sitting on the table.

They had no clones where I bought them, otherwise they were a must have for the boys... o_o

Cor, those are a bit good. I'm tempted by the cheapness and the hard plastic, but 2 inch scale is a bit big for me. I will probably carry on trying to scrape together some bendy 28mm ones...

I thought the same when I first saw them, but if I want to game with them I'm going to use some adapted Ronin rules so I will inks need a handfull of minis for each side on the table.

And to be honest, I don't want to pay the prices for the wotc stuff...  Esp. As these were only 50 cent per model.

Nice work, they are a nicer size for the tiny tots, and perfect for skirmish based games :D

The real reason is your just getting prepared for the future of scale creep right ;)

Cheers
Matt.

I picked up the pack with some sandtroopers and Tusken Raiders recently. Not sure what my plans are yet...

They seem to be bringing out bits from Clone Wars and New Hope eras, hopefully enough coverage of both to be useful. There's a limit to how many Jedi fighting stromtroopers scenarios a person can come up with o_o

Still, I suspect it's yet another project that will sit in a box for years :-[

Great stuff!
 :-*

I have a few of these that my sister picked up for me.
Dunno if I will ever get around to painting them, though, due to their size.

It would have been great if they'd made the rebel troops easier to get, putting them in the 2 most costly sets with the Falcon and the Star Destroyer didn't help . Fingers crossed the new movie spawns more items the same size.

I thought I had seen the rebel figures separately, so went off to check. Turns out I hadn't, but I did spot the Clone Troopers and Droids packs, which I've just bought. Dammit!!!! ;D
