Really beautiful work here Asslessman! Some of these conversions are also just inspired in how well they fit in with the old and old-alike models!  :-*

Thanks that's exactly the intent behind all this ! ^^

Now here's a new one that should fit just fine with the rest, a trader based on an old Warhammer character and sci-fied up a bit to fit in the grim darkness of a far future :

The conversion is a simple one but it works well I think, you can read/learn more baout him if you want to do so in the associated blogpost HERE.

Yeeeeeeeesssssss! Love him.

Is it just me that loves Traders? I can't think of anything more inspiring than some sort of sci-fi caravan.

Exactly 40 k went to far the opposite way,I prefer the rogue trader style fluff,in a frontier / medieval techno style.

@Jagannath : You're not alone, we're quite a few I suspect ! The Ash Waste caravan is in the projects I'm thinking about at the moment, I just need a suitable "mule" to carry the luggage.

@3 fingers : I do tend to prefer the open setting of RT with the bits of DUne, Star wars, 2000AD and other cyberpunk influences, I really like to explore this imaginary world with models like this, it's like opening doors really. ^^

Yeah, that would be great - have you seen the newer version of the comic Prophet? There's an awesome caravan in the first issue, huge 'bugs' eat each others dung until a valuable resource emerges at the end of the chain:

I'd love to recreate something like that - I've got a 'Crusty' caravan I'm working on in 15mm, but sculpting all the baggage is sloooooow going. Anyway, sorry, I'm derailing.

That's brilliant, totally in the mood of what I'd want to do. I've got a big project in that vein too but for now I'd like smaller creatures to get with the caravan ;)
I'll keep an eye for plastis toys.

@Wachaza : Thanks a lot !

Now for something slightly different, here's one of the most fulfilling models I've painted in years. Why is that ? Well... Painting models started in the early 90's for me just along listening to heavy metal an reading fantasy comics and Iron maiden's been a major influence for a long time for me. Getting to paint this one feels like giving a thumbs up and finger gun to my 12 years old self.

Like usual, you can read a bit more about this guy in the associated blogpost HERE.

That is a wonderful picture. Will have to go looking for the comic now ;).

As to creatures for the caravan how about the World of Twilight creatures. Some wonderful pieces in the range.

Where's the Eddie from? I don't see much of a scale issue. He's just tall.

@manic _miner : There are great models to be used for caravans here, thanks a lot !
@ 3 fingers : this one and the ones for confrontation are really great inspirations for what I imagine a caravan should be like.

I don't suppose I have to explain to anyone here why the subject is so relevant now so I'll just say sometimes, brushes can drain a bit of frustration away... I've welcomed everyone to paint one of those, It'll get you a model painted and it might show to some we can accept differences that shouldn't matter.
