New sci-fi tank sighted - 1:48 scale
« on: 09 October 2008, 09:38:02 PM »
I've just stumbled upon this little piece of sci-fi wonder:

https://sslsites.de/forgeworlds.de/product_info.php?products_id=12583

It's nice to see something that doesn't scream "Warhammer 40k" but still can be used with that game and other sci-fi settings/games.

90 Euros? Woof. I had been waiting for that one since I saw it over on Work in Progress, but that takes it off my list immediately.

It is pretty. Too expensive for my blood. Also, I am not so sure it doesn't scream 40K. I had to look again to make sure it wasn't just another Forge World variant.

Yep...it's a bit expensive, but not so when compared with the Forgeworld tanks that have all those skulls, spikes, etc. that need to be removed for the tank to be used in other sci-fi settings.

And thanks for the WIP forum reference. I didn't remember all those threads by its creator. That man has talent  :o

But I've got a big problem. They don't seem to sell outside Germany :\ I've tried contacting them but to no avail. So...can anyone here help me? I'm interested in buying one of those tanks, but I need someone in Germany to do it for me (and them ship it to Portugal). You can contact me by PM.

Did you say DOESN'T Scream 40K erm...... well it does a little bit really. kinda landraider/predator cross ish...but still servicable for ultra-modern-future modern terrans.

Nice find

It's a lovely model, though vastly overpriced, but those sponsons are so 40K!  lol

Without those it would be perfect for any normal sci-fi game.

And would you know, the sponsons are NOT included in the kit, as are the rocket pods! You have to buy those EXTRA!

Seperate huh? That makes the price steaper and the tank less 40K.

Bummer, a paradox.

Just to clarify things, I still say that it doesn't scream WH40k for me, lol. In fact the tank reminds me of the Predator tank from C&C 3 Tiberium Wars:

Anyway, I'll try my luck and buy it (with or without the sponsons...I'm still debating that one). I've found another site that sells it to Europe.

I spot 25mm slotta base used as the sponson mounting! ;)

They've taken away the retro rivets and skulls, but the basic shape is VERY 40k-ish.
