Who makes good extra Late Roman shields?
« on: 08 May 2015, 06:12:26 PM »
I have a nice 110 unit Late Roman army I am building, all units are Footsore except for 4 Artizan Designs spearmen.

I find that I am short about 12 shields, 4 for the Artizan guys, and perhaps 8 either did not arrive or, more likely, my kids managed to get into my toys and lose a few.

Who makes good shields, same size and shape as Footsore's?  Round or oval, either way works.

Any suggestions?  Thanks!

Gripping beast I would suggest. Only I 'm not sure they do that small a quantity of them!

I have been looking on their new website and I cannot find the "spare parts department" there.

Can you point to it?  Or what is the name I should search in the search box?  Anyone know?

Thanks!

Go to "Other" across the top, then "Figure accessories" then "shield packs"

You could also check out 1st Corps who do them in packs of 20.

Those are really nice.  I like the wood on the inside of the shield.  Very nice touch.

Do any LBM Late Roman transfers fit well on them?

There are Romano British transfers by LBMS available that fit  them not sure if the Late Romans transfers fit. We're hoping to have some Late Roman water slide transfers available soon.

Hi Madmick - by "we" are you LBMS or Curteys?  Or someone else?

Thanks.

Ex Musketeer now Footsore tended to have separate (and very finely detailed) Late Roman shield available.
I can't find them on the Footsore website but email Andrew C. and simply ask.
There's lots of LBM decals for those.

I've been asking Footsore via email but no response.  I've made three (four?) orders of their fantastic minis and it's for this army I'm looking for 12 more shields, ideally consistent with the other 90 or so.

Alright, Madmick, I've ordered two packs of shields, round and oval, as well as some casualties and some LBM decals.  This ought to do quite well.

Thanks for showing me what you guys make.  I hadn't seen many of your minis.  They look great, and I really like the Asian lines, too!
