Marx Cars of the Future?
« on: May 13, 2015, 05:20:17 AM »
I have seen these used to great effect on some tables in here, is there a store still selling these or do you know of a good alternative for scenery?

These models are 20-25 years old.
With (lots of) luck you'll find some on ebay, however, the past Fallout threads (and recent genestealer cult thread) already caused 2 worldwide searches by LAF members...

*edit*

I noticed in the bazaar/wanted board you're also looking for trucks.
look for ERTL 1950 Chevy cabover. They look the part and pop up regularly on ebay :

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons,
for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

Almost forgot.
for a Fusion flea Supreme you could use a model of a Messerschmitt KR200 :

I was lucky to obtain 2 at €10 each IIRC, but you can see them going at insane prices (for such a small model)

I wound up using McDonald's toys based on the movie Cars instead of those Marx ones. You could just slap some plasticard onto them if you really wanted that particular look. But aye, there's plenty of die casts out there that would do too, and being wrecks its not as if people will be looking too closely anyhow.

I do have some Marx cars of my own however. I haven't touched them with any paint as I thought that it could be possible to make a mold of each of them and fill them with clay to make copies. Its not something I've had the time to follow up on, but if I ever bother with that Hirst Arts Molds stuff again its a possible.
