That sounds like a cool walker, kind of 'Maschinen Krieger"-ish.

1974! XD How cool is that!

Oh, the thing about clean museum tanks and such: I heard that the Museum in the UK that has the running Tiger and Panther brought in an old Heer veteran to assist. They asked him what they had wrong, the Maybach engine lit on fire every time they started it?

He laughed and said something like: "Oh you didn't get it wrong, they did that in 1944, too." XD

I'll share pics of the walker when it's done; I'm on a somewhat Rogue Trader nostalgia kick at the moment, and the Walker is inspired accordingly (and I FINALLY solved the last of the weapons fit parts problem this morning!).

As for the Maybach engine, yup, they had a real issue with catching fire at inopportune moments, not just on start-up... going to make for some fun "Friction" in our upcoming tank skirmish system when we get to th elater half of the war... lol

Concerning the history of sci fi miniature wargaming here in the U.S., I covered that to the best of my knowledge with the local Bayhammer podcast gang not too long ago:

Sweet! I'll give a listen soon, might be nice while I paint. :)

I'd love a game detailed enough to have mechanical breakdowns and such.

Ergonomics and how that affects Situational Awareness is a major factor in calculating the Situational Awareness (SA) Rating in the game. When we're ready for a Beta test version I'll post an announcement on the Metal Express home page, here, and on TMP. 8)
