Question about Bengal Lancers from Perry

Hello Everyone, I've been doing searches and my Google-fu is weak.

I *think* I can afford some Perry Bengal Lancers next month, and so my question is: they make Muslim and Sikh minis, since I want 9th Bengal Lancers for my Sudan force, do I want one, the other, or a Squadron of each?

There's a photo of Indian officers of the 9th at Suakin. Fifteen fine-looking fellows: Thirteen are Sikhs, two are Punjabi "Mohammadans."

Don't know if that officer ratio reflects that of the other ranks, but it seems the answer is "both."

Just had a look in one of me books and found a little more about the make up. There were Sikhs, Dogras, Pathans and Punjabi Mohammadans. Still nothing on the relative amounts, though. So two more turban types to research if you fancy getting out the old putty. 


Another interesting fact is that they weren't Lancers when they set out, they were merely the 9th Bengal Cavalry. They were required to convert to lancers and retrain while en route to Bombay to take ship. So they may not have been as effective as your normal lancers are in whatever rules you use.
