Especially with a new Lenovo.   ;)
Seriously, when you need the backup it's too late to make one. And when you flood your laptop with beer or drop it off the table or have to send it to repair for some other reason you will be glad you have your files safe on a disk.

The Five IT Support Rules

Rule 1 - Check the cables and power
Rule 2 - Reboot
Rule 3 - Always have a backup
Rule 4 - RTFM
Rule 5 - Upgrade
